The short version

Right now this site collects almost nothing. There is no signup form connected, nothing is for sale, and everything you type into the calculators stays in your browser. We use Google Analytics to count page views. We do not sell your data, we do not run ad networks, and we never will without saying so here first.

Everything below is the detail.

Who we are

Salt Water Pool Answers, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY], [ADDRESS]. Reach us at hello@saltwaterpoolanswers.com or through contact.

What we collect and why

What you type into our calculators stays in your browser. Your pool dimensions, your salt readings and your volume are processed in the page itself. Where you asked us to carry a figure from one calculator to the next, it is stored in your own browser’s local storage. None of it is sent to us and we could not see it if we wanted to.

Usage data through Google Analytics 4. We use it to see which pages people read and which calculators get used. GA4 sets cookies in your browser, records a randomly generated identifier, and processes a truncated form of your IP address. Google is the processor and its own privacy policy governs what it does with that data. We have Google Signals and ads personalization switched off, so your activity here is not fed into advertising audiences.

If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on, and any tracker blocker will also stop it. Nothing on this site breaks if you block it.

Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard access logs including IP addresses for a short period, for security and to stop abuse. We do not read them routinely and we cannot tie them to a person.

Your email address, if you ever give it to us. Not yet. The signup forms on this site are not connected to anything, and they say so on the page. When that changes, this section changes with it and the date at the top moves.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone
  • We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels or ad-tech cookies
  • We do not buy email lists
  • We do not send daily email, or any email

Cookies

Two things get stored in your browser. Google Analytics sets its own cookies, described above. Separately, the site remembers your light or dark theme choice and, if you use the calculators, your pool volume. Those two are local storage rather than cookies, they never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

You can block all of it in your browser settings. The site still works. The only thing you lose is the convenience of carrying your pool volume between calculators.

Who we share with

That is the whole list. When we add an email platform or a payment processor, they go in this table before they go live.

We will also share information if we are legally required to, and we will tell you if we are allowed to.

How long we keep things

Analytics data for 14 months, which is the shortest retention GA4 offers. Server logs for the period Cloudflare sets, which is measured in days. We hold no email addresses and no purchase records.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. Write to hello@saltwaterpoolanswers.com or use contact and we will act within 30 days.

Depending on where you live you may have additional specific rights, for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the UK and EU GDPR, including the right to object to processing and the right to data portability. Ask and we will honor them; we do not make you prove your jurisdiction first.

Children

This site is for adults maintaining pools. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Security

Traffic is served over HTTPS. We hold no payment details and no email list, so there is nothing of yours on our side to lose. No site can promise perfect security, and anyone who does is not being straight with you.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we change this page and move the date at the top. Material changes get a note on the page rather than a quiet edit.
